I would like to thank friends in Northwold for sympathy cards, letters and floral tributes which I received after the death of my Brother Charles. I would also thank those who visited Charles in hospital, and also donated to Cancer Research which totalled two hundred pounds.

Village Hall
On behalf of the Village Hall Trustees I would like to thank EVERYONE who helped in any way to make THE SCARECROW WEEKEND such a success for our funds.
To those who made a display;  who made cakes, and the Post Office for selling them; Jenny and Barry for their popular ice cream stall; everyone who helped in any way at the Village Hall and for the added side attraction of another stall - even though it didn't help the hall funds.
CONGRATULATIONS to the joint winners - Hazel Chamberlaine and Mike Parfitt and to the JUDGES for their long walk and diligent way they carried out their duty.

The final profit from the Scarecrow Weekend was £ 769.02. The event was disappointing with less than one quarter of the houses exhibiting a scarecrow, and a poor crowd on the Saturday. The Committee has therefore decided to give it a rest for next year. Other ideas are to be explored, for instance gardens open to the public with stalls etc.

The new doors are to be fitted to the surgery end at a cost of £475 each.

Emergency

Once again we have had a person collapse in a locked house unable to summon help. Most of us have a friend with a key to the house, but it might be an idea to put a note on the door saying where it is. Also anyone with a health problem should have a Data Link information pack in the fridge. See Jim Booty for one.

Forget me Not Club
Mrs Tuffnell told members about reflexology, showing how foot massage relieves discomfort in other parts of the body.
At the A.G.M. which followed Mrs J. Barrett was re-elected Chairman, Mrs B. Carr is President and Secretary, and Mr J. Booty Treasurer, with Mrs Sutterby and Mrs Steward making up the Committee. The Club has a bank balance of £379.04. Mrs Barrett won the Competition prize.

Parish Council
The School Village Projects have been judged and prizes will be obtained.
At last the plinth on the village cross is being rebuilt and looks good.
